Flowers for Beautiful Skin: Hibiscus
Ruth Swissa likes to call this the elixir of youth. Hibiscus is nature’s anti-aging gift to you. It contains a natural source of alpha hydroxyl acid (AHA) which is the leading compound found in anti-aging products. You can utilize this flower by mixing it with other skincare products, such as milk, honey, turmeric, or rose water. Simply blend the ingredients and watch hibiscus work its magic. Bot only does it improve your complexion by tightening your skin, but it has other benefits such as reducing dark circles / eye-bags and reducing suntan.

Things You Thought You Knew About Acne Might be Wrong !
Ruth Swissa uncovered some common misconceptions about acne
Popping pimples makes everything better — wrong. Picking at your skin is one of the worst things you could do. Popping pimples releases inflammatory secretion which can cause scarring and infect your clean pores (resulting in more pimples).
Acne doesn’t have to do with what we eat — Although it’s not 100% clear whether acne is caused by diet or genetics, there is some proof. Greasy foods as well as dairy are the leading cause of breakouts. Stay away from the deep fried foods!
Acne is a teen-thing — false, acne is also becoming pretty common amongst adults which is something dermatologists refer to as the “adult acne epidemic”. (Good news is that it’s treated the same way teenage acne is treated)
Acne goes away on its own — Don’t let those zits inhibit your skin silently. Acne is caused by clogged pores, most likely by natural oils. There are plenty of treatments to unclog a swollen pimple.

Chocolate = Beautiful Skin #what?
This year don’t regret those Valentine’s Day chocolates, your skin needs ’em. Ruth Swissa is gonna let you in on a little beauty secret: beauty doesn’t mean a life sentence of leafy greens. Indulge in some sultry dark chocolate chunks and reap the benefits.
Chocolate Reduces Blood Pressure
Dark Chocolate relaxes blood vessels. This in turn will reduce blood pressure. Chocolate is perhaps the natural-born chiller; a ‘feel-good inc’ opiate.
Wrinkle Reducer
Chocolate is an organic stress reliever –Â it reduces the formation of stress hormones. Consequently, this will promote less collagen breakdown in your skin and ultimately leave you with fewer wrinkles in the long run.
Flavonols
Chocolate contains Flavonols, antioxidants that help your skin combat UV damage, fight free radicals, and increase blood flow. So in other words, fewer wrinkles, fewer sunspots, and an irresistible dewy glow.
~*Keep Label in Mind*~
Even though the chocolate seal may read “70% Dark Chocolate”, if the first ingredient reads “Milk” or “Sugar”, you know your bar does not contain 70% or more cocoa content. Also, to achieve these beauty benefits, make sure you’re indulging in a chocolate bar that contains 70% or more cocoa content. No glacĂ© milk/white chocolate allowed. Portions do come into play as well; make sure you’re not eating more than one ounce of this gushy-good stuff.

Q: Do I Have to Get Rid of All the Hair on My Brows Before I Do Permanent Eyebrows?
A: When getting permanent eyebrows done, there is an ongoing misconception that one would have to get rid of all current eyebrow hair. Ruth Swissa is here to clear up this myth and provide you with information that’s actually quite the contrary. At Ruth Swissa Professional Permanent Makeup and Skin, we put the utmost importance to eyebrow hair, looking to preserve each strand. Many customers have asked Ruth if they would need to shave their eyebrows clean in order to get permanent eyebrows but this is a false idea. Ruth Swissa uses the eyebrow hair as a simple add-on to the already 3-d looking pigment she applies just to provide you with realistic and natural result.
On the other hand, there are many customers who come to Ruth Swissa who suffer from hair-loss diseases such as alopecia or trichotillomania and don’t have any eyebrow hair for Ruth to work with. Not to worry, Ruth has an artistic eye and skillful technique, she is able to apply permanent makeup pigment in a way where the strokes look like real hair. Ruth never uses generic stencils that were in style twenty years ago. Each of our clients leave with natural-looking eyebrows that suit and enhance their individual facial expression.Â
