“Ingrown hairs show up when a hair that is shaved, waxed, or tweezed curls and burrows back into your skin as it grows.”
This can lead to inflammation and unsightly spots. Here are some quick fixes:
- Exfoliate. When in the shower, use a loofa, wash cloth, or gentle body scrub to exfoliate the area tenderly
- Avoid picking! When these stubborn hairs refuse to come up on their own, avoid picking at them yourself since this can lead to infection. See a professional, like here at Ruth Swissa, where they can help with proper removal.

DO YOU HAVE SUCH PROBLEM
A dermatologist diagnosed me with an ingrown hair when in fact it was a sore that had ruptured from a serious case of MRSA. I knew I had to see another doctor as I was feeling worse and worse. It took over 2 years to get the MRSA out of my system. If you think you have an ingrown hair, always ask the doctor to lab examine it for infections and virus.
Yes, absolutely consult a doctor. There’s nothing worse than making assumptions when it comes to these things. Thanks for your feedback!
